Our relationship with nature has been reset: 82% of people now say they value nature more than before the pandemic, according to our research. If lockdowns have taught people anything, it’s the benefit of the natural world on their happiness and health.;

2) From friend of Mindful Musings - Street Wisdom - Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK and the theme of the week is to connect with nature. So we’re inviting our global community to do just that - take some time out for your mental wellbeing by getting outside and connecting with your environment. Volunteers are hosting online events from Nairobi and the UK and there’s even going to be an in-person event in Portugal! Tickets are free and we invite you to donate to the Mental Health Foundation.’

I’m starting to get sleepy as I read on the couch so I lie down, but instead of going right to sleep, I start noticing my thoughts, coming alongside them, each one its own little parable, from para, alongside. I’m not lucid dreaming because I’m not asleep. But I’m not awake in the ordinary sense either, nor am I meditating. I’m in a luminous in-between state of hypnagogia…

6) In an essay earlier this year, the terrific New Yorker writer Rachel Syme assessed a couple of new books on the subject of scents, and made an important point along the way. But it is also an instrument for wonder, for noticing that which we often take for granted, and for which we rarely have a name.”

Hey yew, It’s nearly time for this year’s Urban Tree Festival! Taking place 15th -23rd May, the festival will celebrate our urban trees through art, literature, online talks, tree walks and children’s activities. Events are taking place in London and beyond, many of which are free and online so you can enjoy them from the comfort of your home.’

10) May is Living Streets’ National Walking Month. Walking is good for our minds, our bodies and our neighbourhoods and has been a lifeline during the past year, helping people stay active and connected.’ (ht @davidpearlhere).
